WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY FIRST VISIT?

From the moment you first arrive, our goal is for you to feel loved, valued, accepted and appreciated for being our guest! As soon as you enter the front doors, you will see our first time guest kiosk where an experience team member will greet you and walk you through everything you need to know. If you have kids, our experience team members will help you get them checked into the correct classrooms and introduce you to their room leaders. From there, you can enjoy a free cup of coffee at our coffee bar, meet new people in the lobby or make your way right into the auditorium. If you enjoyed the service, we would love to have you fill out a connection card and turn it back in to the first time guest kiosk after the service, where we will exchange that card for some free movie tickets for you and your family! As our guest, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and "be anonymous” for a while and that’s fine with us! North Star is a safe place for you to just come as you are, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, ask questions and see if this is the right church for you!

WHAT ARE THE WORSHIP SERVICES LIKE?

Each service kicks off with a time of live, energetic worship music, followed by a Biblically-centered message that's always practical, challenging and relevant to our every day lives. There are message notes in every bulletin, and there is a large auditorium screen that displays the Bible verses that will help you make the most of the message. We like to end our teaching time with a few minutes of prayer and a closing song. Each worship service is about seventy minutes long and is designed with you in mind, so we invite you to join us!

WHEN & WHERE DO YOU MEET?

North Star is currently in the process of finalizing the purchase of the American Legion in Coon Rapids (11640 Crooked Lake Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433).

This Sunday's service will be held at: American Legion

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

At North Star, everyone is welcome to come just as they are. Some people dress to the hilt, and others dress very casually. You will find everything from shorts and flip flip flops to dress shirts and skirts. We encourage you to come the way that you feel most comfortable, because North Star is not about what you look like or what you wear.

WHAT'S AVAILABLE FOR MY KIDS?

At North Star, your children are a top priority! Our facilities are clean, safe, and staffed with loving workers. During both services, we offer a dynamic, fun-filled environment for kids ages infant through 5th Grade.

(See the North Star Kids page for more info)

When you arrive, just follow the signs to the kids check-in area and one of our friendly volunteers would be happy to assist you in helping your children find the correct room!

WHAT ABOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL?

If you have a Middle or High School student, we host special services just for them on Wednesday nights at "the hub"

(2040 125th lane NW Coon Rapids, MN 55433)

For more information, check out the Drive Students page.

On sundays, we encourage students to attend services with their parents in the auditorium or to volunteer on a team. There are lots of volunteer opportunities for students on Sunday mornings. We've found that by getting students to volunteer on Sundays, it is an effective way to help them become more comfortable working side by side with adults, and will help them stay involved as they mature.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

The best way to get connected at North Star is to attend "Starting Point"

Starting Point is held on the first Sunday of every month at Pastor John and Shannon's house, immediately following the 10:00 am service. It is a casual, "get to know you" type atmosphere where you can eat, relax and get to connect with others personally. You will have an opportunity to meet the staff, learn about the history, mission and structure of North Star, and ask any questions you may have. This is the best way to get connected at North Star! If you have kids, we would love to have them join us! There will be members of our children's ministry team on site to watch the kids.
